about

“Slip in a Blue Pool” is a long-form, improvisational, live-looping ambient music composition. Inspired by the works of Hiroshi Yoshimura and Brian Eno, the heart of this recording features an electric piano fed into a Strymon Magneto set to a loop length of approximately seven seconds. This live looping performance method, in the spirit of Frippertronics, captured the initial notes which slowly repeated and dissolved into the background as new notes were played atop.

The disintegrating notes created an improvisational call and response environment during the live recording session. Phrases, chords and movements were simply the sum of the improvised repeating single notes as they overlapped in time, play together, then blur into the distance in support of the nostalgic theme.
